Mike Judge And Terry Crews Working Together On Project Featuring Idiocracy's President Camacho

Mike Judge has a knack for creating great, long-lasting characters that find cult status. Titles like Beavis and Butthead and Office Space are great bits of pop culture and you can make anyone smile just by explaining that you need TP for your bunghole or showing them your red Swingline stapler. Idiocracy falls under that umbrella as well. While perhaps not as popular as some of Judge's other works, there is a large underground community of people of always use Brawndo to mutilate their thirst. And for those people I have some very good news.

MovieLine recently spoke with Terry Crews, who played the memorable role of President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho in Idiocracy, and the actor confirmed that there have been some rumblings of a possible spin-off featuring his character. "Me and Mike [Judge] are talking right now with Fox about some Camacho stuff," Crews told the site. "We literally met with Fox a week ago. It’s so cool." In the movie the character is a former porn star and professional wrestling champion who was elected president in a distant future where stupid people have taken over the Earth by over-breeding.

For those hoping the President Camacho will be back on the big screen, you might not want to get ahead of yourself. Crews says that the project will most likely be web-based. "We’re going to start off on the internet and do some small interstitials with Camacho." Crews will next be seen in The Expendables 2, which is due out on August 17th, and stay tuned for our own one-on-one interview with him next week!
