Natalie Portman was prolific for a while there, appearing in no fewer than 6 films between 2010 and 2011. But as buzz grew about her performance in Darren Aronofsky's chilling drama Black Swan, she announced she was pregnant. And once she giddily geeked out in various acceptance speeches from the Golden Globes to the Academy Awards, already sporting a proud baby bump, we were forced to recognize the well-adjusted child star would be taking a break from moviemaking to be a mom. Thankfully, Portman's leave of absence from cinema has been brief, and with her firstborn little more than a year old, filmmakers are once more clamoring for her attention.

We've previously reported that she has signed on to front Lynne Ramsay's follow-up to the devastating and brilliant We Need to Talk About Kevin with the Western Jane Got a Gun.And just last week word surfaced that Fox Searchlight wants Portman to play Jackie Kennedy in their in-development biopic Jackie. Now The Wrap reveals both Fox and Paramount have approached Portman for several other hard-hitting new projects.

First up Fox has offered her the lead in Last Witness. Should she sign on, she'd play a psychologist who counsels the sole survivor of Boston café bombing who is suffering from amnesia. But Paramount's offered project seems far more intriguing. Described as Training Day meets La Femme Nikita, their espionage thriller called Code Name Sasha would have Portman playing an action hero as a single mother who has long been trapped in a life of crime, but is given a way out when the FBI asks her to go under cover to topple a global gun-running operation. Anyone else eager to see Portman's return to Professional-style intrigue?

Portman's representatives have made it clear that the actress has yet to decide on which—if any--of these three features she will front. However, having wrapped on the Terrence Malick romance Knight of Cups and set to appear in Thor: The Dark World and Malick's next untitled project, whatever her decision on Jackie, Last Witness, and Code Name Sasha, we're sure to see plenty of Portman in the coming year.
