Subscribe To The Rock Just Shared The Only Baywatch Photo You Need To See Updates
People have been saying this since the very beginning, but Baywatch just isn’t Baywatch if you don’t have David Hasselhoff in the mix. There have been rumblings for some time the singer/actor/Knight Rider would have some role in Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson’s impending big screen Baywatch reboot, and now we have proof thanks the Johnson and his ubiquitous social media presence. This is really the only Baywatch picture you need to see.

It’s damn near impossible to look at this Instagram photo of Dwayne Johnson and David Hasselhoff side by side on the beach, rescue buoys in hand, sporting those signature red shorts, and not smile. As Johnson says, Hasselhoff did indeed drive the coolest car of the 1980s, the Knight Industries Two-Thousand, and he is the mater of slow motion beach running. Now if only they can find a way to combine those two elements, the new Baywatch will really have something going.

We’re also curious to see how David Hasselhoff fits into the newly revamped Baywatch. Dwayne Johnson is taking over the role of lifeguard Mitch Buchannon, so we know it’s not that, but from this picture at least, it looks like the Hoff will still be saving lives on the beach in some capacity. He could just be up for a cameo, but if, as The Rock says, Hasselhoff "trained his ass off" for the movie, perhaps he has a more substantial role in the works for the comedic take on the source material. We’ll have to wait and see.

Directed by Horrible Bosses and Identity Thief’s Seth Gordon, the new Baywatch has put together a cast of beautiful people to fill out the fan favorite swimsuits. Zac Efron will co-lead with Dwayne Johnson, Alexandra Daddario takes the Summer role from Nicole Eggert, model and actress Kelly Rohrbach has been tasked with filling out Pamela Anderson’s C.J. Parker character, Billions’ Ilfenesh Hadera will play Mitch’s girlfriend, and Quantico star Prinyanka Chopra was recently added was recently added in a villainous role.

Baywatch is currently filming and will give theater audiences mouth to mouth on May 19, 2017.
