Every time Black Widow has appeared in a Marvel Studios movie, we’ve learned a little bit more about her secretive past – and it’s a past full of some very, very dark secrets. Born in Russia, she was enlisted as a spy when she was just a child and was working assassination missions before being picked up by S.H.I.E.L.D. and reforming. This history is only expanded on in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but more importantly it opens the door for her past to come back to haunt her in a very big way in the upcoming The Avengers: Age of Ultron. After seeing the film, this was something I was immensely curious about, so it was fortunate that I soon after had the chance to sit down with Scarlett Johansson to talk about her character’s future adventures
A few weeks ago, I took part in a press event for Captain America: The Winter Soldier held in Los Angeles, CA, and while sitting down with the actress we discussed her about her future as Black Widow, her character’s views on Captain America’s black and white morality, and more. Watch the video above to see what she had to say!
As a bonus, below you can take a look at Scarlett Johansson’s evolution of Black Widow through Iron Man 2, The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is in theaters now, and you can watch more of our interviews with the cast and filmmakers here.
