The Mickey Rourke and Megan Fox-starring Passion Play was by far the most inexplicable movie I saw at the Toronto Film Festival last fall, so bizarre that I couldn't even write a proper review of it and put down my thoughts in a stunned list. I was even more flabbergasted when the movie was picked up for distribution, going to the brave souls at Image Entertainment, with plans for a brief theatrical release on May 6 leading into a DVD release May 31.

Now to give you some idea of what to expect, watch the trailer below that recently hit the web. If it doesn't make any sense, I promise that's not because it's a bad trailer, but the movie is exactly as bizarre as it seems. And if you're drawn in by the inexplicably strong cast-- Mickey Rourke, Bill Murray and Rhys Ifans surrounding the surprisingly intriguing Megan Fox-- well, I'm not going to stop you from seeing it. Passion Play is undoubtedly a weird movie, but it's strange enough that I'm watching this trailer six months after seeing it for the first time and still thinking about it. Once it hits theaters on May 6 I'm sure there will be some passionate defense of this movie written on the Internet, and I'm dying to read it.
