Tamara Tunie Boards Flight With Denzel Washington
By Kelly West published

Most people probably associate Tamara Tunie with her role as Dr. Melinda Warner on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which would be fair, considering she’s credited for 200 episodes over the course of the series’ eleven-year run. Not being a regular viewer of the show, when I see Tunie, I immediately think of that creepy dressing-room scene in Devil’s Advocate. I also vaguely recall her appearances in a season of 24. Regardless of what you know her from, with her extensive career in film and television, there’s a good chance you’ll recognize her from something. Coming soon, she’ll be seen along with Denzel Washington in the upcoming film Flight.
According to Variety, Tunie is set to play a flight attendant in the film. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the movie follows an airline pilot with “substance abuse issues” who manages to save most of the passengers after having to crash-land the plane. “Tunie plays the lead flight attendant who is interviewed during a routine investigation that leads to the unraveling of his life.”
Also among the cast for Flight, in addition to Washington and Tunie, are John Goodman, Don Cheadle, Kelly Reilly, and Bruce Greenwood. IMDB also has Melissa Leo listed among the cast for the movie, which should hit theaters sometime in 2012.
