Terrorist Vampires

The Middle East is a scary place filled with dissenting opinions, millions of soldiers, and more holy relics than anywhere else in the world. For the last fifty years, this vortex of instability has seemed destined to implode amidst a fiery barrage of nuclear weapons and chemical calamities, but according to New Regency, that’s not even the region’s biggest problem. What, you ask, could possibly scare the living hell out of humans more than impending war? Vampires and zombies.

According to Variety, New Regency is planning on adapting the Virgin Comics favorite Virulents. The story centers around a squadron of soldiers, part American and part Indian, who encounter a horde of pissed off vampire zombies. I don’t know what the hell a vampire zombie is, but it scares the bejesus out of me. The Omen helmer John Moore is set to direct the picture. His previous horror experience really should help put the final pieces in place for a freaky film.

Casting is yet to take place, and a lot of pre-production still needs to be done; so, don’t look for this any time this year. I I’m not normally a big horror proponent, but this premise is exciting.
