Wanted Director Grabs An Edgy 3D Thriller Called Red Asphalt

Timur Bekmambetov, director of Wanted and owner of one of the most ridiculous last names in the industry, can't seem to keep out of any movie finding it's way towards production. Attached to a retelling of the classic Herman Melville tale Moby Dick, and signing on to be part of Darkest Hour just this week, he's adding yet another film to his ever growing list of prospects in the form of Red Asphalt, according to the LA Times..

The film comes into play now as Wanted 2 has run into a few road blocks, freeing up Bekmambetov to look into other directing projects. Asphalt is being kept as under wraps as ever but is being touted as an "edgy 3D thriller," which is nigh infuriating since their starting to incorporate "3D" into the genre description of a film. However, it's easy to trust his choices after looking at his career. Of course he's best known for Wanted, but Night Watch and Day Watch are his true masterpieces and will give you the best idea of his style, which is so visual that even the subtitles feel like part of the story.

Bekmambetov's movies are rich and deep with story and always a treat to look at so despite the premature announcement of 3D, you should expect nothing less than excellence from Red Asphalt. More news on this film as it becomes available.
