Watch New Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Extended TV Spot
We're entering the home stretch of the mania that is Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and it seems like each passing day brings a new piece of excitement to the table. Today is no exception, as a brand new TV spot has landed on our desk. Take a look at this extended, more subdued look below:
This latest look at Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice comes to us from the The TSG WB Nexus, and while there's still a fair amount of bombast and destruction, there's also a lot of quieter moments for both titular heroes. In fact, the trailer bookends itself with a heaping dose of Bat-wisdom, as Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne reflects on the Wayne legacy in the ruins of his familial home, only to take his mean streak to the streets and assure us that, "the world only makes sense, if you force it to." That line right there is classic, Miller-esque dialogue, if there ever was such a thing.
Batman isn't the only person questioning their life in the wake of the apocalyptic madness that was the finale of Man Of Steel, as Henry Cavill's Clark Kent isn't exactly feeling like a Superman in his more ponderous moments. Considering he writes off his metahuman identity as, "the dream of a farmer from Kansas," the existential angst is strong with Clark as well. Much like Captain America: Civil War, it looks like Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is looking to engage its audience on a more cerebral level, delving into the ethics of superheroes and dissecting what it takes to truly be named hero. That is, of course, on top of some kick-assed action.
Just when you think Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is going to be nothing more than a sob-fest, out comes the heavy artillery. Bullets fly, laser gazes are engaged, and all sorts of thrills cap off this longer than usual look at Zack Snyder's superhero opus. Which is a good thing too, as both thrills and emotions are needed to set up the playing field for the future of the DC cinematic universe, as well as the future Justice League and Wonder Woman films that are set to bow in the near future. With the first reactions, both fan and critic driven, hitting the internet in the past couple of days, the outlook on the final product is trending positive, which only enriches the content we've seen above.
Though if you want to go out on a pulse-pounding note, feel free to re-watch the last Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer below. Think of it as a mental trip to the gym.
We're almost there, folks! All we have to do is wait until Thursday night's early showings, and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will be ours for the dissecting. Here's hoping the finished product lives up to the hype in the TV spot above.
