Watch Every Captain America: The Winter Soldier Easter Egg

We've talked about how Marvel is the dominant species when it comes to Easter eggs being hidden in a film. However, not even we could spot some of the Easter eggs buried deep within Captain America: The Winter Solider. Some of these references so sly they couldn't be captured until the film's home video release. With a digital HD version currently available for home viewing, now we have them all.

Watch every Easter egg hidden in Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2-parts. Here’s part one…

And now part 2…

Both videos cover deeper connections to the Marvel Universe, as well as connections to the world outside of the MCU. For instance, consider the following higlights:

  • The Lemurian Star refers to the sunken continent of Lemuria. Lemuria is home to The Deviants.
  • Arnim Zola's supercomputer form is a stepping stone to becoming a cyborg. A cyborg that was an easter egg in Captain America: The First Avenger.
  • Captain America jumping out of a plane without a parachute actually happened in The Ultimates – Issue #1
  • There's a jar of Newman's Own sauce in Alexander Pierce's fridge, before he meets with the Winter Soldier.

Out of all of the Marvel Studios pictures, Captain America: The Winter Soldier has some of the most serious Easter eggs outside of The Avengers, including obvious references to events and persons that will be seen in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron. In fact, this just further cements the formula that dictates the Captain America franchise as the one to set up the next Avengers flick. Twice Cap has had the honor, and twice his movie has dropped massive clues and links into what's going to happen when the current phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe wraps up.

If you're interested in catching the details yourselves (and perhaps finding things that even the internet hasn't picked up on yet,) grab a digital HD copy of Captain America: The Winter Soldier now, or wait for the physical release on September 9th. If you're more of the patient/avoidant of double dipping sort, you can wait until next fall, when the Phase 2 box set will presumably be available for purchase.
