Henry Cavill holds a very special place in our hearts. As the latest incarnation of Superman, he kicked off the DCEU when Man of Steel hit theaters in 2013. Now the universe has grown exponentially, and fans have become increasingly excited about the prospect of The Rock's imminent introduction as Black Adam. It now seems that Cavill and The Rock are also pumped about that prospect as well, as the two met up over Christmas to share a drink and bond over their mutual DC greatness. Check out the Instagram post below to see for yourself.
I don't care how much fun you had this holiday season, it will never compare to the one experienced by The Rock and Henry Cavill. The current Superman and future Black Adam sat down together to share a Christmas drink, and it's unquestionably one of the manliest things that we have ever seen. The Rock's caption makes a very clear point to identify both of them as members of the DC Extended Universe, so we can only imagine that they took some time to discuss the future of their respective characters. Will we get to see a badass smack down between Black Adam and The Last Son of Krypton? At this point we have no idea, but we remain hopeful. After all, it would be a waste not to take advantage of these two amazing icons.
The inclusion of The Rock in the DCEU has become one of the most enticing aspects of the entire franchise. As a complete and utter box office phenomenon, the guy has become known for his ability to completely rejuvenate tired film series over the course of his career -- hence the nickname "Franchise Viagra." There's a strong case to be made that the DCEU doesn't currently have the best footing with mainstream fans, and The Rock's Black Adam may be the thing the DC universe needs to resonate with audiences.
Just in case you need any further reason to get excited about these two appearing on the silver screen together, check out the fight scene between Black Adam and Superman below:
