One Marvel Actor Wants In On James Gunn’s Moon Knight Movie

James Gunn has developed a well-deserved reputation for making waves on social media, and the last week has only served to reaffirm that idea. The Guardians of the Galaxy director recently took to Twitter and admitted that he has an idea for a Moon Knight movie, and the Internet immediately exploded upon that hearing of that revelation. In fact, it now seems that people within the Marvel fold are interested in Gunn's Moon Knight project, and Vincent D'Onofrio has publicly voiced his own desire to take part in the potential project. The Daredevil star tweeted:

That's right, folks. The man behind Daredevil's delightfully evil Wilson Fisk has taken to Twitter to voice his support for James Gunn's Moon Knight movie idea, and he even wants in on the affair. Vincent D'Onofrio has proven time and time again that he's one of the best things to ever happen to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the prospect of seeing his version of the Kingpin take on a live-action version of Marc Spector is simply too good to pass up. Just think of the potential for bloodshed.

A showdown between Kingpin and Moon Knight would truly be unlike anything that the silver screen corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has ever seen before. Both of these men are brutal hand-to-hand combatants, and both are pretty obviously unbalanced in their own ways -- Moon Knight is often considered the poster child for mentally ill superheroes. It would definitely add new shades of darkness to the MCU and push the PG-13 rating as far as it can go.

Of course, the fact that D'Onofrio wants in on this Moon Knight project only serves as further evidence that the hero may not even belong on the silver screen in the first place. Despite his all-white attire, Moon Knight is one of the darkest anti-heroes in the entire Marvel mythos, and there's a strong case to be made that he clearly belongs in the Netflix-based Defenders universe alongside heavy hitters like Matt Murdock, Frank Castle, and (you guessed it) Wilson Fisk.

I don't want to get you too excited, as this project isn't even confirmed, but just imagine what a battle scene between Moon Knight and Kingpin could look like. It would even be (literally) more insane than the one shared between The Punisher and Mr. Fisk in Season 2 of Daredevil:

CinemaBlend will bring you all of the latest and greatest details regarding all of the most highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe adventures as more information is made available to us. James Gunn's Moon Knight movie isn't a reality just yet, but let's keep our fingers crossed that someone at Marvel is paying attention. Stay tuned for more details!
