A Spider-Man: Homecoming Character Was Just Confirmed For Avengers: Infinity War

Unless you have been living under a rock, you probably know that Spider-Man: Homecoming has been a hit for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film had a good opening weekend, buoyed by the movie's cast of delightful characters. We already know that Tom Holland will continue that success next year with his return during the events of The Avengers: Infinity War, but now it seems that actress Isabella Amara will also return for the upcoming Avengers film as MCU newcomer Sally Avril. Amara said:

Yes. I'm in Spider-Man: Homecoming & Avengers: Infinity War. They are filming both Infinity Wars back to back but I'm only in the first one.

The fact that Isabella Amara will return for the events of The Avengers: Infinity War isn't necessarily surprising when we consider the sheer scale of the upcoming Marvel blockbuster. Pretty much every major Marvel hero will play a role in the 2018 battle against Thanos (Josh Brolin), and each of them will bring members of their own supporting casts along for the ride. From the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj to the Guardians of the Galaxy, it's a "who's who" of Marvel franchises, so it only makes sense for someone like Sally to show up. Amara doesn't get much time to shine as Sally in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but it's clear there's a plan for her that extends beyond Jon Watts' first Marvel adventure, and she will continue to help flesh out the Web Head for at least another year.

Building off of that idea, we will have to wait and see how Sally develops as the Marvel Cinematic Universe presses forward. As a longtime member of the Spider-Man supporting cast, Sally has played a significant role in Peter Parker's corner of the Marvel mythos for years, and she has even gone on to become a gadget-wielding superhero known as Bluebird. Oh, and she has a pretty badass costume as well.

Bluebird Marvel Comics

Do Isabella Amara's comments to Blackfilm.com mean that Sally becomes Bluebird during the events of Infinity War? Not necessarily. However, it does show us that Marvel explore Spidey's corner of the MCU a bit more during its next team-up film, and use the new characters to continue fleshing out this ever-expanding world. Considering how well fans have responded to Spider-Man: Homecoming, that could be a good plan.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is now in theaters, and Peter Parker (along with Sally) will make his next major appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when The Avengers: Infinity War debuts next year on May 4, 2018. Here's everything that CinemaBlend currently knows about the upcoming Avengers team-up.
