Watch Aquaman And Mera Wash Ashore In Australian Set Video

Sure, Justice League will serve as the official DCEU introduction for Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry, but the Aquaman solo movie is where he will shine as a hero alongside his beloved Queen Mera. There's a decent amount of fan enthusiasm surrounding James Wan's dip into the DC universe, and a set video has just surfaced online showing Momoa and Amber Heard doing a bit of frolicking at a beach on Australia's Gold Coast. Check out the video below.

We cannot glean too many plot details from that leaked set video from 7 News Gold Coast, but it does tell us that Arthur and Mera will eventually make their way to the surface at some point during the film, which is something we pretty much could already assume. Aquaman historically likes to make an entrance, so something tells us that there will be plenty of water effects on full display when we see this ocean scene brought to life on the big screen for the first time.

Beyond Jason Moma's Arthur Curry, Amber Heard's Mera has arguably become one of the most exciting members of the supporting DC cast. Unlike characters like Iris West (who reportedly wound up on the cutting room floor), she has reportedly not been cut from the final version of Justice League, which means we will get our first good look at her next month. In the years since her introduction in the comics, Mera has become one of the most badass women in the entire DC lore, so all eyes are officially on Amber Heard to see what she does with the role. Her costume already looks impressive (and more colorful than we had previously expected), so now it's just a matter of waiting to see the sheer amount of damage she can dish out with an Atlantean trident.

Every new morsel of information about Aquaman adds to our growing anticipation for the film, as it seems to be shaping up to become something entirely different from the traditional DCEU adventures. We already know that Aquaman and Mera will have a somewhat strained relationship in the upcoming solo movie, and that James Wan intends to parlay that antagonism into a fun adventure movie dynamic in the vein of Romancing the Stone or Indiana Jones. Couple that with the fact that Arthur will apparently finish up his movie on the throne of Atlantis, and it sounds like some significant character development is on the horizon for this musclebound, aquatic badass.

Aquaman and Mera will both make their proper silver screen debuts when Justice League premieres in theaters next month on November 17, and James Wan's Aquaman solo movie will follow suit next year on December 21, 2018. If you have not already heard, tickets for Justice League are now officially on sale, so make sure to get yours as soon as possible!
