The Funny Way Sebastian Stan Is Trolling Avengers: Infinity War Fan Theories

Marvel Studios has managed to keep its most prominent Avengers: Infinity War spoilers intact for quite some time, but that has not stopped insiders from having fun with fans. In fact, one of the most well-known fan theories about the upcoming film centers on the possibility of a bearded Steve Rogers becoming Nomad. Now it looks like Bucky Barnes actor Sebastian Stan has heard about these theories, and he is all in on perpetuating them when fans get to meet him. Check out how Stan recently signed a fan poster for Captain America: The Winter Soldier below to see how he's keeping those Nomad rumors alive.

Quite a bit has changed in the world of Steve Rogers since Captain America: Civil War premiered in theaters last year. The events of his latest solo movie fundamentally changed his perception of patriotism, and he gave up his trusty vibranium shield after his climactic battle with Tony Stark. From there, select audiences got the first look at Infinity War's Steve Rogers this summer when he showed up with a beard and a ragged costume in the early D23 trailer for the new Avengers film. Some fans have suggested that this means he will become Nomad (a persona he similarly took on in the comics after becoming disillusioned with Captain America), and Sebastian Stan seems intent on using his signature on that fan's poster to keep the speculation going until May 4.

Of course, if Cap does go on to become Nomad at some point during the events of Avengers: Infinity War, then we should also keep our fingers crossed that he will don the hero's utterly ridiculous (but still absolutely fantastic) costume.

Captain America Nomad

With all of that said, Cap's fate is one of many moving parts that will play a fundamental role in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Avengers: Infinity War is shaping up to become arguably the biggest Marvel film to ever hit the silver screen, and Steve Rogers' Earth-based exploits (he fights alongside Black Panther's armies in the first trailer) represent one small aspect of a much more significant picture. Phase 3 is about to come to a (potentially lethal) head with this behemoth adventure, and Cap possibly changing up his persona is only one facet of the much larger battle against Thanos and his Black Order.

Whether or not Cap will turn into Nomad in Avengers: Infinity War remains to be seen, but we will find out for sure when the film premieres in theaters next summer on May 4, 2018. Here's everything that we currently know about Avengers: Infinity War. As for the MCU's current adventure, make sure to catch Thor: Ragnarok -- which presently dominating the box office.
