The Incredibles 2 Rang In 2018 With A Different Kind Of Toast

We're two days into 2018, but some of you might still be remembering how you celebrated 2017's final moments on Sunday. There are various ways to bid farewell to a year, and one of the more popular traditions is to offer a toast. That's exactly The Incredibles 2 did, only instead of holding up a glass of champagne or any other kind of beverage, the upcoming Pixar movie went in a more literal direction.

What a crumby way to usher in the new year. Then again, this sort of move is Disney and Pixar's bread and butter. I fully admit that I'm going against the grain by expressing my approval of this post. Ok, I'm done. Considering the family-friendly nature of The Incredibles 2, as well as every other Pixar movie, we don't blame the Disney social media folks for setting aside the traditional champagne glass in favor of some wholesome word play involving food that people of all ages can enjoy. Of course, this now begs the question if Disney will make Incredibles 2-themed toasters so we can get that same symbol on our bread. Sure, it will taste exactly the same, but anything to spice up our breakfasts.

It's been 14 years since we watched the Parr family save the world from Syndrome, but for these characters, their sequel adventure will take place immediately after the first Incredibles movie, where they were about to do battle with The Underminer. Rather than have Bob Parr, a.k.a. Mister Incredible, be the leading superhero again, The Incredibles 2 will see him staying at home to take care ofJack-Jack while Helen Parr, a.k.a. Elasti-Girl, will be the one out in the field fighting crime, at least initially. Most of the main actors from The Incredibles are reprising their respective roles, with the notable exception of Huck Milner being brought in as Dash's new voice. Bob Odenkirk and Catherine Keener will also be voicing new characters, though their identities haven't been revealed yet.

Take a look at The Incredibles 2 footage below to watch Bob discover that Jack-Jack does indeed have superpowers. Perhaps the baby's heat vision will come in handy for cooking up some sliced bread in case the toaster is on the fritz. Clearly that's what happened in the above, music-accompanied poster.

The Incredibles 2 will be released in theaters on June 15. Head over to our Disney movies guide to see what other projects the Mouse House has in development, and as for what other studios have coming up over the next 12 months, consult our 2018 premiere guide.
