It's the beginning of September and that means it's time for a new school year at Hogwarts. Harry Potter fans celebrate the special day every year at King's Cross Station and this year they got to meet some special guests. Both Jude Law and Eddie Redmayne, who will be on screen later this year in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald, stopped by to wish everybody a safe trip from platform 9 3/4.

September 1 is the official start of the term according to the books by J.K. Rowling, and so it is on that day that fans gather at the actual King's Cross Station where the characters board the Hogwarts Express. Along with all the fans who were there, many wearing robes and carrying wands, Eddie Redmayne, who played Newt Scamander in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Jude Law, who will play a young Albus Dumbledore in the upcoming sequel, appeared. They counted down to the departure of the Hogwarts Express with the crowd and even tried to make their way through the barrier to Platform 9 3/4, though it appears they were not met with success.

It's a testament to just what a phenomenon the Harry Potter franchise has become. While it's been years since the last film in the main series, and even more since the book was released, people are still passionate about the world and want to continue to be part of it. J.K. Rowling has obliged the fans by writing both a stage play sequel and a film prequel to the main series. The second of a planned five-film series hits this November and continues the story of Newt Scamander who has found himself opposing the dark wizard Grindelwald, played by Johnny Depp.

It's great to see so many people just having fun with the media they feel passionately about. Based on pictures of the event, everybody here was smiling and having a good time being with other people who love this stuff as much as they do. You can tell Redmayne and Law are also having a blast just being surrounded by so many fans. You can be sure everybody in that station will also be sitting in a theater on opening night when Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindlewald comes out. That day will be November 16 in both the US and the UK.
