New Hellboy Poster Gives Us An Even More Badass Look At David Harbour

After a decade away from the big screen, Hellboy is embarking on another cinematic adventure next year, only this time, it's Stranger Things star David Harbour in the role rather than Ron Perlman. Around this time last year, we got our first look at Harbour in his Hellboy makeup for the upcoming reboot, and like Perlman before him, his version of the character looked just he'd been ripped straight from the comics. Now we finally have another image of Harbour's Hellboy, only this time, he's rocking the full horns and wielding a flaming sword, thus making him look even more badass.

Because he spends his days keeping Earth safe from mystical and mythical threats, it's easy to forget that had history gone differently, Hellboy could have been one of those creatures targeting Earth. But fate had different plans for this half-demon, and during his time with humans, he's filed down his horns so he can fit in better among them. However, there have been select times in the source material when Hellboy's horns have grown to full length, and that's how he's depicted in this poster. That tagline, "Legendary AF," isn't great, but as far as the look of the character goes, this is an impressive translation. With his sword in one hand and the Right Hand of Doom ready to go, Hellboy is prepared for battle. That said, given that the times Hellboy's horns have grown back were tied to the prophecy of him bringing about the end of the world, seeing Hellboy like this is cause for concern.

Last week, it was announced that Hellboy was vacating its January 11, 2019 release date and moving to April 12, 2019, so we have a longer wait in store for the demonic character's to return to theaters. However, Hellboy has a panel this weekend at New York Comic-Con, and there's been speculation that the first trailer will be shown there. Given how often new posters precede new trailers for blockbusters, it seems more likely now that some Hellboy footage is arriving in the coming days, but we can't say that with 100% certainty just yet. In any case, after a year of only having that one image of David Harbour's Hellboy, it's nice to have something new to gaze at.

Hellboy will see the eponymous protagonist and his allies battling a medieval sorceress who wants to destroy mankind. Along with Havid Harbour as Hellboy, the cast includes Milla Jovovich as Nimue the Blood Queen, Ian McShane as Trevor Bruttenholm, Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan and Daniel Dae Kim as Ben Daimio, among others. The Descent's Neil Marshall directed and Andrew Cosby wrote the script with Hellboy creator Mike Mignola.

As mentioned earlier, Hellboy is now arriving next spring now rather than at the beginning of 2019, so stay tuned to CinemaBlend for continuing coverage. In the meantime, look through our 2019 release schedule to find out what other major motion pictures are coming out next year.
