ReelBlend #71: Tye Sheridan Talks Dark Phoenix And Ready Player One
The X-Men franchise is coming to a close. Not necessarily by choice, but more by circumstance. Dark Phoenix, which opens in theaters tonight, will serve as the last X-Men movie made under this existing banner, and likely will be revived by Marvel Studios as part of the MCU in years to come.
Tye Sheridan, who plays Cyclops in the two most recent X-Men movies, joins the ReelBlend podcast this week to discuss his time in the role, his views on the series potentially going to the MCU, some behind-the-scenes secrets on the filming of these huge X-Men movies, and so much more.
Naturally, because Sheridan also played Wade Watts in Ready Player One – a beloved movie for the ReelBlend guys – we also had to pepper him with questions ab out filming that movie and working with Steven Spielberg. Tye can text Spielberg any time he wants. That makes Kevin super jealous.
Press play on this week’s episode. It’s a great listen!
In addition to the cool Dark Phoenix talk, the guys this week contributed more insight into Christopher Nolan’s next movie, Tenet. They break down the trailer for James Mangold’s Ford v Ferrari. Jake and Sean review Godzilla: King of the Monsters. And Jake tells everyone why they should be watching Chernobyl on HBO.
