There really is nothing quite like a mother's love. For Kim Kardashian's 36th birthday on Friday, Kris Jenner shared a super sweet and touching message to her daughter, including an adorable collage of throwback photos featuring Kim as a child.
Though Kim Kardashian usually does her birthdays up big, she is staying in and celebrating quietly for her 36th today, CNN reports. Last year, husband Kanye West rented out a whole movie theater for Kim and her friends and family to watch the 2015 movie Steve Jobs. The party also featured guests donning fake baby bumps and dressing up in their favorite pregnant Kim Kardashian looks, since Kardashian was pregnant with son Saint West at the time.
However, since Kim Kardashian is still reportedly very shaken following her robbery at gunpoint in Paris two weeks back, don't expect to be seeing her out and about throwing a big party. Kardashian has been uncharacteristically absent from both social media and public appearances since the armed robbery, in which gunmen broke into her hotel room, tied her up, and stole $5.6 million worth of her jewelry. The incident was traumatic for Kardashian, and she has reportedly bulked up her security to include former members of the Secret Service since returning to America.
Though the Kardashian-Jenners probably won't be doing it up big for Kim's birthday, they did get to let loose for another family birthday celebration over the weekend. The famous family all got together on Sunday for a massive, Ferrari-themed birthday party for King Cairo, the son of Kylie Jenner's boyfriend Tyga and Rob Kardashian's fiancé Blac Chyna. Though Kim Kardashian's daughter North West got to enjoy the ferris wheel, horseback rides, and other attractions at the party, Kim herself was notably absent, still choosing to remain out of the public eye.
In lieu of a big blowout, the Kardashian-Jenners have taken to social media to wish Kim Kardashian a happy 36th birthday. Along with Kris Jenner's touching message and throwback photos, younger sister Khloe Kardashian made a video message on her app dedicated to Kim.
Stepsister Kylie Jenner also celebrated Kim's birthday through her app by sharing all the times they've dressed the same.
And Kendall Jenner shared an adorable throwback photo of Kim Kardashian as a teenager with Kendall and Kylie as young children.
Stepparent Caitlyn Jenner also got in on the birthday love, sharing a photo of herself with Kim Kardashian and wishing her a happy birthday.
But it's Kris Jenner's poignant message that really takes the birthday cake. During such a somber birthday for Kim Kardashian, at least she knows she always has her mom there for her with some words of love.
