Farrah Fawcett And Ryan O'Neal's Son Redmond Charged With Attempted Murder

Farrah Fawcett Redmond O'Neal Farrah's Story NBC

Redmond O'Neal is currently locked up and is facing major charges. The son of Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett was arrested on Friday for what was deemed a "slew" of crimes in connection to a violent spree in Southern California. Among the charges, Redmond O'Neal is currently booked for two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of criminal threats, one count of battery, one count of brandishing a knife, and one count of attempted murder. If he is prosecuted, there's a good chance the 33-year-old son of Hollywood royalty will be locked away in prison for quite a long, long time.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Redmond O'Neal reportedly attacked a group of people who made eye contact with him in Venice Beach and the Palms neighborhood. There are believed to be five victims altogether. He allegedly stabbed a man in the side on May 4th, and O'Neal later reportedly stabbed another man several times not far from where he was previously. Both victims have reportedly received serious injuries due to Redmond O'Neal's alleged attacks. Redmond O'Neal was ultimately arrested following an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven after he was identified as the subject. His red hair and distinctive tattoos, including one large Superman-esque logo located near his breastbone, matched the descriptions for the attacks earlier in May. Reportedly, all of this stemmed from Redmond O'Neal's history of drug and legal problems. Redmond had drugs and drug paraphernalia on his person when he was cuffed and taken away into custody by the police. He is currently sitting in custody in the Los Angeles County Central Jail, according to THR.

While Remond O'Neal doesn't nearly have the career in Hollywood shared by his parents, he has worked inside the industry before. He's credited as a production assistant on the 2003 comedy Love Don't Cost a Thing. Meanwhile, during his younger years, O'Neal worked as a voice actor, providing the voice of Squirt in The Brave Little Toaster Goes To Mars and doing voice work for Johnny Bravo. Redmond was also featured in the 2009 documentary Farrah's Story, which remembered his actress mother during her final years. Farrah Fawcett reportedly left a great deal of her inheritance to her youngest son when she passed away, and he was dealing with drug-related charges at that time. Ryan O'Neal, meanwhile, hasn't responded to the charges made against his youngest son. He is, of course, the actor behind iconic movies like Paper Moon, Barry Lyndon and Love Story. Remond O'Neal is also the half-brother of Oscar-winning actress Tatum O'Neal.

This story is obviously still ongoing, and we'll keep you posted on the latest developments that arise with Redmond O'Neal's case.
