Fall Out Boy Is Making A New Album, Check Out The New Single

Fall Out Boy is returning to the world of music, and when the band makes the decision to put out new music, the members of the group don’t mess around. The guys have decided to put out their first album since 2008’s Folie á Deux, as well as embark on a tour that will last into the summer. To make sure fans get excited enough about the endeavor, the band has already put together a video for their new single, “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)”.

The video features fire and a seemingly angry 2 Chainz, so it’s definitely worth a watch. It’s also the first music we’ve heard from the band in several years, and while the signature pop sound is there, it’s a little more angry than the wry and bitter undertones the band usually favors when creating catchy music. “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark” is the lead single off of the new album, which will be available worldwide on May 6 and 7 and will be titled Save Rock and Roll.

Fall Out Boy also posted a message on its site explaining why the men in the band took so much time off (although it doesn’t mention several of them were pursuing solo projects), and that they wanted to return to the World’s Stage with music that would matter to them.

“when we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music. its why we started fall out boy in the first place. this isn't a reunion because we never broke up. we needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us.”

You can head over to the band’s website to see if they will tour in a location near you.
