Stranger Things: We Finally Have Our First Look At Season 2

Outside from the expected hits like HBO's Game of Thrones, this past summer brought on a new widely popular and acclaimed drama. Netflix's 80's sci-fi adventure Stranger Things was considered the breakaway hit of the season, and has remained a pop culture icon in the following months. Now, following a win at the SAG Awards, Stranger Things has released the first image from Season 2, as well as when we can expect to see the trailer. Spoiler alert: it's coming this week.

Just when you thought you couldn't love the child cast of Stranger Things any more, the delightful nerds dress up in matching Ghostbusters costumes. Let's hope the internet is a little kinder than they were the last time newcomers donned the iconic suits. Smart money says this image is from a Halloween episode, especially because one Season 2 episode is titled "The Pumpkin Patch".

This awesome still, courtesy of EW, also comes with more exciting news. The first teaser for Season 2 of Stranger Things will premiere this Sunday during the Super Bowl. So if The Game, the commercials, and Lady Gaga aren't enough motivation to tune in, maybe this teaser will put you over the edge.

Between the still and the teaser announcement, today is essentially Christmas for Stranger Things fans. While Season 2 was ordered shortly after its release, we haven't been privy to much information about the second season. Sure, a few cast members were added, but camp Stranger Things was definitely keeping it tight lipped.

And these spoiler-free few months will surely pay off this Sunday, as fans of the series will be able to enjoy the trailer's contents without already knowing what to expect. Now the next task is making sure your party guests will zip it when the teaser unexpectedly hits.

While the first season of Stranger Things had plenty of payoffs and a great ending, there are also quite a few mysteries in the air at Hawkins, Indiana. Hopper appears to have some sort of relationship with the creepy dudes from Hawkins Lab, and he's leaving Eggos for Eleven out in the forest. While Will Byers is finally home with Joyce and Jonathan, he's upchucking slug creatures on the down low. Plus, he appears to occasionally travel back to The Upside Down for moments at a time, which is sure to be a fascinating way to re-enter the mysterious dimension.

Stranger Things Season 2 will be released in its entirety sometime this year, and will consist of nine episodes. Stay here at CinemaBlend for updates on all things Stranger Things.
