If you're someone who enjoys Kate Upton, you're going to want to clear your schedule for Thursday night. The supermodel extraordinaire is taking her talents to the stage of Lip Sync Battle this week on Spike, and she really heats things up as a pop music icon! Just how sexy could a supermodel performing Britney Spears "Hit Me Baby One More Time" possibly be? Take a look at the preview below:
I believe a "Yowza" is in order here, and I think host LL Cool J says it all when the camera cut to him in the video and you see him mouth, "Oh my God," next to a pant-less Ricky Martin. Even Chrissy Teigen let her jaw drop to the floor as Kate Upton crawled across the stage! No doubt Upton will win a few new fans (and lose zero) when Lip Sync Battle returns to Spike this Thursday, but will it be enough to topple Latin sensation and future American Crime Story star Ricky Martin?
While I'm sure the crowd won't put this much consideration into Kate Upton's look, there are a few inconsistencies in costume between her and Britney Spears look in the music video. For starters, Spears rocks platforms in her music video where Upton is rocking the stage IN HIGH HEELS. That's honestly more impressive, and though Spears is definitely doing a lot of choreography in her video, we only see a little bit of Upton's moves, so we can't really knock her for not going the extra mile in this clip. Another nitpicky thing I have to say is Upton is wearing white pom pigtails with a nondescript color tie at the bottom, where Spears is prominently pink on both counts. Come on!
Once again, not a huge non-nerdy deal, but if this were a Cosplay competition, I would imagine she would be getting some points docked! To cap it all off, Spears was rocking way less leg and more midriff than Upton is showing off. Of course, that could be tied to other things, such as generational shifts in fashion trends, or the fact that Upton isn't a minor like Spears was when she made the video.
I have a good feeling that Kate Upton will use those long legs to walk away with this battle on Thursday, but I don't doubt the sexiness appeal of Ricky Martin for even one second! I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Martin is able to pull a New England Patriots-level comeback with his Risky Business-esque performance. We will see for sure as Lip Sync Battle is all new this Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on Spike. Tune in to see Upton and Martin duke it out, or if you've seen enough, go ahead and search for something else on Thursday night and beyond by using our midseason premiere guide and summer premiere schedule.
