The Unexpected Game Of Thrones Character Kit Harington Would Bring Back From The Dead
In a world where resurrection is canon, Game Of Thrones has the ability to bring back any character from the dead. Considering the expansive list of characters deceased on the series, one might find Kit Harington's number one choice for a second chance at life unexpected, as the actor goes all the way back to Season 1 for his pick:
While most Game Of Thrones fans might say Ned Stark, or perhaps Catelyn Stark in the form of Lady Stoneheart, Kit Harington tells EW that Viserys Targaryen is his favorite option. When asked for a reason why, Harington said he believes Viserys could "kick up some trouble," referencing the deceased Targaryen's penchant for pissing people off. If Viserys were still around, would he perhaps be in the same position as his sister Daenerys and be making a run for the Iron Throne?
He almost definitely would not be, but it would be interesting to see what position Viserys would be in had he not been given a molten crown by Khal Drogo. Despite arranging the marriage, Viserys was very unhappy that his sister was given a higher seat of power than himself, and at one point tried to steal the dragon eggs in order to purchase an army separate from the Dothraki. Had he been successful, it would have been very hard for Dany to get anywhere beyond the desert without the use of her dragons.
Ultimately, it's hard to believe that Daenerys would put up with Viserys for long, considering she's taken out far less annoying enemies for less. Kit Harington's wish is a surprising choice, but ultimately not that viable within the Game Of Thrones story. The silver lining is that it's kind of a good thing, as the last thing Game Of Thrones fans need right now is more theories to rack their brains with. In the case of Viserys Targaryen, let's hope that the Drowned God made an exception and what is dead is truly dead.
Game Of Thrones is set to return this Sunday, July 16th at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. The odds of Viserys making a comeback are outrageously low, but the odds of Sansa Stark having something up her sleeve seem pretty high. On the note of things unlikely to happen that might be cool, we have this list of some unlikely people who could still rule Westeros. We also have a quiz that asks true fans whether they can name famous characters in the series by the way they died.
