How Outlander Stars Reacted To Episode Airing With Pornographic Captioning

Jamie And Claire Outlander Starz

The characters in Outlander currently have a whole lot of problems on their hands, and apparently the show does as well. In a hilarious turn of events, a bunch of Brazilian fans got quite a surprise when the show's captioning for a recent episode turned out to be for an adult film. Some fans laughed it off, and others were angry, but how did the stars of the series react? When news of the mixup hit Twitter, Caitriona Balfe was quick to laugh at the screengrabs that were circulating:

Caitriona Balfe appeared to be a fan of the goofy Outlander mix up. Those that watched the program in Brazil said the interactions (which continued to stay super adult throughout the episode) between characters were equally hilarious, as the captions synched up with the speaking of the actors. For someone watching that was bilingual, the mix-up was easy to spot, but for the crowd that only spoke Portuguese, there was some obvious mass confusion. Fortunately, the network that aired the episode apologized, and will be airing reruns of the episode with the appropriate subtitles at a later date.

Unfortunately for the network, it appears this mixup will be talked about by Outlander fans worldwide for many years to come. That's fine though as the cast continues to joke about the incident as actor Sam Heughan asked his co-star if she thought he had a large "prawn" in Portuguese:

Not missing a beat, Caitriona Balfe hit the Jamie actor back on Twitter with the response "o mar está cheio de pequenos camarões." For those that don't speak Portuguese, Balfe just said, "The sea is full of small prawns." Clearly, whoever was responsible for the mix-up wasn't a fan of Outlander, and it's a good thing too because if the actors are even getting in on the jokes, the fanbase won't stop referencing it anytime soon. That's fine for the time being because the show really needs something to lighten the mood as Season 3 continues to pour on the drama.

Outlander is all new Sunday, November 19th at 8 p.m. ET On Starz. Foreign porn subtitiles aren't the only laughs the show has had in this Season 3 run, as the series recently reunited Jamie and Claire in a rather hilarious scene.
