Fear The Walking Dead's Alicia Doesn't Need No Stinking Love Interest

Alicia Clark Alycia Debnam-Carey Fear The Walking Dead AMC

Fear the Walking Dead will show Alicia going through many things when it returns to finish out the back half of Season 4, but apparently, romance won't be one of them. That's what actress Alycia Debnam-Carey hinted at anyway as a recent online Q&A revealed she doesn't think her character needs a stinking love interest:

I mean, I'm happy that Alicia doesn't have to have a relationship at this point. I think she's lost so much that it's probably unlikely at this point as her mind is just trying to get out of this pit of despair. She's like, 'I don't need anything, 'cause that just means there's more to lose.'

Alycia Debnam-Carey indicated Alicia is an independent woman who doesn't need a relationship and added that finding true love is almost certainly at the bottom her list of priorities at the moment. After all, Season 4 will pick up with Alicia coping with the loss of her mother and brother, and the whole "being the sole survivor of her family" thing. On top of all that, she'll be working with Luciana and Strand, attempting to figure out what their next move is going to be now that their quest for vengeance is over and what their new normal will be on Fear the Walking Dead.

In short, it doesn't sound like Alicia is going to find true love before the end of Season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead. Additionally, Alycia Debnam-Carey makes it sound as though Alicia is going to have to work herself out of her current headspace to even consider something like that, which won't be easy. Debnam-Carey doesn't seem all that concerned about whether or not Alicia ever finds love as she agreed with co-star Colman Domingo during their Facebook Live Q&A that her character has already had a lot of love thus far in the series.

After running down the list of people Alicia has had a fling with, the actress seemed more than fine with the fact her character doesn't have to deal with yet another relationship at the present. That said, prior to answering the question, Colman Domingo clarified the question was regarding "true love," which could indicate Alicia might have something a little less serious happening with someone as she continues to work on her issues. What's wrong with a zombie apocalypse fling every once in a while? They don't all have to result in marriage and a baby.
