Is Parks and Rec's Li'l Sebastian Crossing Over To The Good Place?

Li'l Sebastian went to horsey heaven on NBC's Parks and Recreation, but now it looks like he might be crossing over to NBC's The Good Place. D'Arcy Carden, who plays Janet on The Good Place, posted a photo with the famously adored mini horse.

To emphasize that it's THE Li'l Sebastian, the official Parks and Recreation account also reposted D'Arcy Carden's photo, writing "1 like = 1 candle in the wind." Parks fans will recall Andy Dwyer's (Chris Pratt) tribute song for the late Sebastian was "5,000 Candles in the Wind."

All of that suggests Li'l Sebastian made it to The Good Place. Unless that's The Bad Place? They'd never dare send him there! But it also suggests maybe we'll get to see Li'l Sebastian soon in The Good Place Season 3. It would make perfect sense to see him on the new show, since his death on Parks was such an emotional event, and his tribute song even mentions him being up in heaven:

Up in horsey heaven, here's the thingYou trade your legs for angels wingsAnd once we've all said good-byeYou take a running leap and you learn to flyAnd though we all miss you everydayWe know you're up there eating heaven's hayAnd here's the part that hurts the mostHumans cannot ride a ghost...

In The Good Place's November 8 episode, "The Worst Possible Use of Free Will," a look back into Eleanor's (Kristen Bell) memories showed Pick-a-Pet Day, with each person choosing an afterlife pet. Hopefully Li'l Sebastian wasn't just hiding in the background of that episode as an Easter egg. We want him to be heavily and very obviously featured in an upcoming installment. (You know Jason would love him just as much as Andy did. Sniff.)

The Good Place and Parks and Rec -- which ended in 2015 -- share a showrunner in Mike Schur. There have been several little Parks and Rec Easter eggs in the new show -- including the Swanson Safe Company, to reference Ron Swanson; Jean-Ralphio's champagne brand; Dennis Feinstein's perfume Glyde; and more.

Plus, a few Parks actors have co-starred on The Good Place. Jason Mantzoukas played Dennis Feinstein on Parks, and in The Good Place he was Janet's ex-boyfriend Derek. Adam Scott, aka Ben Wyatt on Parks, is now Trevor of The Bad Place. If Li'l Sebastian does show up, Trevor should make a crack about not getting the appeal, since Ben never understood why everyone in Pawnee was so obsessed with the miniature horse.

NBC didn't reply to Entertainment Weekly's request for more information on a potential Li'l Sebastian crossover, which may or may not be a good sign. Fans will have to continue watching The Good Place on Thursday nights at 8:30 p.m. to keep an eye out for Li'l Sebastian. In the meantime, grab a candle and sway along to his memorial tribute song, and check out our fall 2018 TV premiere guide for more great shows to watch.
