The Wild Way Jersey Shore's The Situation Lost 36 Pounds In Prison

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is a free man and looks thrilled to be back on the outside after serving his prison sentence for tax-related crimes. Jersey Shore Family Vacation fans have seen him go back to live tweeting during Season 3 episodes, and may have caught an interview or two of how Sitch feels now that he's out of the clink.

Fans may have also noticed that The Situation did not spend his time behind bars getting into the food like he did on Jersey Shore Family Vacation. Instead, he hit the gym and went through some wild dieting to drop 36 pounds in a big way. Take a look.

It's reminiscent of the Mike of Jersey Shore but without the attitude that made him the original show's most polarizing cast member. Honestly, Situation may have bigger arms now than when he was living that "Gym Tan Laundry" lifestyle. Obviously, prison isn't an experience anyone wants to go through (though some JSFV cast thought he didn't mind it all that much), but damn, Sitch is making it look like it's the key to a perfect body!

That being said, The Situation told Entertainment Tonight this body did not just happen through simple weight training. The Jersey Shore Family Vacation star shared the process that led to his big transformation, and helped him stay positive while being locked away.

I went to sleep every night at 10 p.m. I woke up every morning at 7 a.m. I did fasted cardio for about an hour. I was practicing intermittent fasting while I was in prison. My window of intermittent fasting was between 16 hours and 17 hours on the weekdays and 18 and 19 on the weekends. I had to continue to challenge myself whether it was in the gym and or diet as well as reading books and trying to progress spiritually as well.

The Situation said he was fasting between a period that, at the very least was two-thirds of a day. Long story short, he was not doing a lot of snacking in prison, which is the exact opposite of what he's been doing the past two seasons of Jersey Shore Family Vacation.

With that amount of fasting, it's impressive that The Situation would be up to even going to the gym, let alone work hard enough for these astonishing results! Sitch hit the gym quite frequently to get those results, and used the calendar to help motivate himself on other days.

I worked out between 2 and 3 times per day. On holidays especially three times, because you know on your birthday or Easter or something maybe if you're in your feels a little bit, you're like 'You know what, I'm going to do something to make my future self proud.'

Fasting a majority of the day is one thing, but hitting the gym two to three times a day in the middle of that as well? That takes some huge mental strength, so props to Situation for staying dedicated and continuing his journey of living his best life!
