Brad Pitt Fulfilled Dr. Fauci's Dream Of Playing Him On SNL

Brad Pitt as Dr. Anthony Fauci on Saturday Night Live

Many people dream about being on Saturday Night Live, but others dream about who might impersonate them on the iconic sketch show. Recently, Dr. Anthony Fauci, who’s been a part of the White House’s efforts to combat the coronavirus, revealed that he would like to see Brad Pitt portray him on SNL. The doctor seemed unsure it actually happening, yet it looks like Saturday Night Live and Brad Pitt were listening.

The latest installment of Saturday Night Live’s “At Home” edition featured a cold open that starred Dr. Anthony Fauci, and Brad Pitt was the actor playing the role. In the sketch, Fauci tries to clarify some of the recent comments made by the President. You can check out the impression for yourself down below:

Brad Pitt may not look exactly like Dr. Fauci, but he certainly does a great job of capturing his speech patterns and mannerisms. Pitt also appears to be having plenty of fun with his new SNL role.

If you’re Dr. Fauci right now, you have to be flattered that a star like Brad Pitt was willing to step in and accept your request. When Fauci originally mentioned Pitt as his top choice, he probably wouldn’t have guessed that it would actually happen. The internet wouldn’t have guessed either, as some had other actors in mind.

Over the years, Saturday Night Live has featured countless impersonations, especially when it comes to political figures. The most notable one in the past few years would have to be Alec Baldwin’s impersonation of Donald Trump.

With the public still in self-quarantine, Saturday Night Live and plenty of other shows have been forced to broadcast from home. However, this hasn’t stopped them from churning out quality content while they wait for things to go back to normal.

SNL, in particular, has still managed to do some fun things with its new format. In addition to having Brad Pitt as Dr. Fauci, the show also included an “At Home” version of the fan favorite “What’s Up With That?” sketch.

Saturday Night Live has also used its time to keep the public informed on COVID-19. This was especially true with Tom Hanks who, in the previous episode, gave a humorous and thoughtful monologue about his bout with the coronavirus.

The world could definitely use a jolt of humor right about now, and Saturday Night Live is delivering it. Still, it’s nice to see the series taking the time to address how people are being affected by this new reality.

Brad Pitt’s surprise appearance is another notch in SNL’s “At Home” belt, and this may not be the last time we see him on the show. Let’s hope this is only the first of several appearances we get from Pitt. Because let’s be honest, who doesn’t want a chance to see more of Brad Pitt on their screens?
