Legacies Just Put A Major Character In A Bind, But Is Something Else Happening With Malivore?

Legacies The CW

Warning! The following contains spoilers for the Legacies episode "Hold On Tight." Read at your own risk!

Legacies isn't exactly a show where supernatural events are uncommon, but the episode that featured Landon and Hope's anniversary certainly threw a lot at fans at a breakneck pace. The two went through one twist after another the entire episode, and just when it seemed they would end the episode happily ever after, Landon melted into a puddle of goop. What the hell happened, and is there a chance this involves Malivore?

Fans may remember that earlier in the episode, Landon had a family reunion of sorts when the Necromancer brought his father Malivore back. It seems Landon is in a tight spot, but after a brief conversation with his dad regarding a "vessel," we see him outside going after the Necromancer. We even get confirmation that Malivore is possessing Landon when the teen blasts the Necromancer several yards back with a punch. Hope arrives just in time to see Landon (who is Malivore) scorched to death by dragon fire.

Landon comes back to life, which doesn't make sense since he's no longer a phoenix. That tips off what's happening to Hope, who realizes that somehow she, Landon, and the Necromancer have been trapped in a prison world separate from the events happening back in the real world. The two eventually find a way out without Malivore and celebrate with a peanut butter shake and a little sex.

As many are picking up on now, though, Landon never told Hope about the whole thing he had with Malivore taking over his body. Then Landon dissolves into a black puddle when they do the deed, which is also something one wouldn't expect out of Landon on a normal day. Many fans are realizing that Landon may have actually still been Malivore, and even worse, Malivore may have had sex with Hope.

Hope doesn't know anything about that for now and only knows Landon is gone. A preview for the next episode showed her turning to Alaric for answers and the synopsis for "This Is What It Takes" lays out what will happen:

After one of their own goes missing, Alaric (Matthew Davis) suggests Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) turn to the therapy box, which thrusts her into a twisted game set in a summer camp slasher flick. Meanwhile, Lizzie’s (Jenny Boyd) attempt to spend some time with MG (Quincy Fouse) doesn’t go quite as planned, and Josie (Kaylee Bryant) makes a big decision about her future.

Is Landon gone for good? Personally, I think with all the rumored exits and actual character exits as of late, it would be a huge deal to kill off Landon. I think he'll end up being okay, but I do question what Malivore's plan was and if he accomplished it. That's if Landon was still Malivore when that even happened because many fans seem to be questioning what exactly happened after the two reunited.

Legacies airs on The CW Thursdays a 9:00 p.m. ET. Programming is really heating up on the network as of late, so be sure to read up on what's being said about some of the exciting CW shows on the way.
