Netflix's Ginny And Georgia Actress Talks Easter Eggs You May Have Missed Ahead Of Potential Season 2

Antonia Gentry as Ginny in Ginny & Georgia.

Ever since Netflix’s newest dramedy Ginny & Georgia debuted in February, it’s managed to stay in the streaming service's Top 10 TV shows. It’s safe to assume the series will be renewed for a second season, and Netflix has yet to confirm that update, that isn’t stopping fans from theorizing about that potential reality thanks to how the first season ended. Now, the “Ginny” of Ginny & Georgia, star Antonia Gentry, is talking about things that fans may have missed on their first watch.

Ginny & Georgia ended on a shocking cliffhanger – spoilers! – when Ginny discovered that her mother poisoned her stepfather. Ginny then grabbed her little brother and fled their home and left the mother she now feared. Although it’s not entirely known where Ginny is going, Antonia Gentry told TVLine that there are plenty of clues and easter eggs that suggest where the teen and her brother are heading:

OK, well, if you’re paying attention, because there are a lot of easter eggs and things that you can miss quickly if you don’t… I would say, watch the show with subtitles on. I don’t know if you notice, but when she’s packing her bag, she grabs the book that Zion gives her, and if you were paying attention, when Zion arrives and is giving her the book, you know that he included an address. He has that secret coded message in it, and she finds out that it’s his address to his Boston apartment. So I’m thinking it’s pretty reasonable to assume that Ginny might be headed toward Zion, but I don’t want to tell people what to think, even though the clues are all there.

See? Viewers didn't need to be actual sleuths in order to figure this one out. Regardless of what theories were already out there, it definitely sounds like Antonia Gentry is nudging fans to make the same assumptions she is, which probably means she's right about the Boston notion.

Georgia killing Kenny will most likely have major implications next season, assuming Netflix chooses to renew the series. P.I. Gabriel had revealed to Georgia his suspicions that she was responsible for Kenny's death, to which Georgia basically confessed that she scattered Kenny’s ashes, as well as all evidence, with her fireworks display. In the finale, however, Gabriel got a call from someone who mentioned that Georgia’s first husband disappeared, so what could this possibly mean for Georgia? Will the evidence keep piling up against her, and how could it all affect Georgia’s relationship with her daughter?

Antonia Gentry thinks Ginny is indeed scared of her mother, and possibly for good reason. But then at the same time, Ginny is also trying to protect Georgia. In Gentry's words:

I think she’s just scared of her. She still relies on the 'family comes first' thing, which is why, I think, she doesn’t turn her mom in, or she doesn’t go along with Cordova. But the fact that she runs away from her mom really just shows how much she is afraid of what her mom is capable of. And I think, on a deeper sense, too, she’s afraid that she might turn into her mom — not that she would kill anyone. But just the fact that her mom is capable of doing that, she’s just really confused. So she’s protecting her mom, yes, but I think that’s just based on instinct. Her mom has always told them, 'Us against the world,' things like that. So she’s doing what her mom has always said to do… But it’s just really complicated. She loves her mom, but man, that’s a huge secret.

Who knows if and when Netflix will renew Ginny & Georgia for a second season? Hopefully there are enough people out there wondering what happens next to convince the streaming service to make it happen. In the meantime, though, you can stream Season 1 and its notable cast again and again on Netflix.
