Chris Pratt, Jimmy Kimmel And More Celebs Say Goodbye As Conan Wraps Its Final Episode

conan o'brien giving thanks on final episode of TBS' conan

The late night TV universe changed this week, with Conan O'Brien's long-running TBS talk show Conan airing its final episode, with the host joined by stalwart returning guests such as Will Ferrell and Jack Black. (Not to mention a special appearance from Homer J. Simpson, himself.) Outside of the show itself, though, tons of celebs from Chris Pratt to Jimmy Fallon took to social media to share kind words, emotional farewells, and enthusiastic appreciation for the beloved, self-deprecating host.

Conan O'Brien ended his final TBS talk show episode with an extended segment where he basically thanked everyone he's ever known, and it was just as fun, funny and authentic as expected. So it makes sense that the Internet has been awash with praise being showered onto O'Brien for his consummate hilarity and weirdness, as well as his ability to let running gags go on ad nauseum. Let's start things off with Chris Pratt and a throwback pic. (You can tell it's old because it was during O'Brien's limited run on The Tonight Show.)

Below is one message shared by fellow late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, and speaking of The Tonight Show's infamous hosting swap, Kimmel also took a shot at Jay Leno during last night's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, saying he was looking forward to seeing Leno's new job at TBS. But here, it's all love for O'Brien and Andy Richter.

Tonight, two men I respect tremendously close a chapter of their brilliant careers. Conan made doing his job the hard way look easy. He & Andy are among the funniest of the many funny people I’ve met. Congratulations to you & your co-workers on a remarkable achievement.

It's perhaps unsurprising that A Quiet Place 2 star and resident nice guy John Krasinski also had some love to share for Conan O'Brien as a force of inspiration.

To keep the blurry throwback pics going, here's a "first talk show" memory as shared by the always hilarious 24 and Mr. Show vet Mary Lynn Rajskub, who will soon be seen in the sci-fi thriller The Tomorrow War.

In another life, Firefly and Resident Alien star Alan Tudyk would have been Conan O'Brien's second sidekick alongside Andy Richter. But since we're in this life, we just have Tudyk taking a couple of hilarious jabs at the late night host for not having him back on the show in a while.

Meanwhile, Supergirl star Jon Cryer had his own fun jabs to deliver, but he aimed for Andy Richter instead.

Curb Your Enthusiasm great Cheryl Hines shared a clip of herself on the show while sending well-wishes for the future, and it's kinda strange that sharing clips wasn't the automatic go-to impulse for just about everyone else in this situation.

Another late night mainstay, The Tonight Show's own Jimmy Fallon, took to social media to offer his gratitude and basically thanked Conan O'Brien for paving the road for his career to flourish.

And finally, because it seems like Conan O'Brien would have gotten a kick out of this, here's Love star and podcaster Paul Rust sharing his own personal farewell to the late night host that's on par with Patrick Stewart's "Use the Force, Harry" meme.

We at CinemaBlend also want to give Conan O'Brien a rousing standing ovation while we try to figure out what we just sat in. Take comfort in knowing the host won't be gone forever, as his future is already locked up tight for a new series coming to HBO Max, as well as more travel specials coming to TBS. So stay tuned to the 2021 Summer TV schedule while waiting to see when O'Brien will show up next.
