New Defiance Trailer Shows Us Weapons, Violence, Aliens And Drama

Set to premiere on Syfy next year is Defiance, an new (actually) sci-fi drama, which will be released along with Trion World's MMO video game that's connected to the series. Syfy released a new trailer for the series, which focuses entirely on the new TV show and gives us a look at the violence, drama and aliens that await!
Developed by Farscape's Rockne O'Bannon, Defiance stars Grant Bowler, Julie Benz, Jaime Murray, Tony Curran, Stephanie Leonidas and Mia Kirshner, and takes place on earth in the near future after an aliens-vs.-humans war changed the face of the planet. You'll see how different earth is in the trailer below, which gives us a look at Defiance, what was once St. Louis. We also get a peek at some of the weapons, vehicles and aliens, not to mention the violence and drama that awaits in this series.
I'm still very optimistic that this will be an interesting and exciting sci-fi series, though hopefully the next video that's released gives us a better idea of who the lead characters are. This one seemed focused on the action, which is another big selling point. We still have months to wait, as the series wasn't premiere until April 2013.
Coming soon to Syfy, Defiance is the innovative serial drama from the minds behind Battlestar Galactica and Farscape. Drifting through a terramorphed American landscape, the mysterious Nolan settles in a border town where aliens and humans fight against the fragility of peace. Tune in weekly as the citizens of Defiance thrive in this hostile world, and see how their struggles impact your war in the high-octane multi-platform MMO shooter from Trion Worlds!
We talked to the cast of Defiance back in July during Comic Con in San Diego. Check out what they had to say about the series here.
