With Freddie Highmore and Vera Farmiga locked in for the lead roles in A&E's upcoming prequel series Bates Motel, now it's just a matter of filling in the supporting cast. And with talent like Highmore and Farmiga, the bar is certainly set high. The latest casting news has Nicola Peltz joining the series.

Last week, we learned that Freddie Highmore had signed on to play the role of Norman Bates in A&E's Bates Motel. The series, which comes from Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin, will focus on the relationship Norman has with his mother, Norma (Vera Farmiga). Today, THR reports that Nicola Peltz has joined the series and will play a love interest to Norman. Her character's name is Bradley Kenner and she's described as "bright and effortlessly sexy with a depth that makes her seem older than she usually is." Norman will take a liking to her, which may not be such a good thing for Bradley, given what we know about Highmore's character from Psycho, the book and film to which this series is a prequel.

Nicola Peltz hasn't stacked up a lot of screen credits yet, but she did play the role of the water-bending Katara in The Last Airbender, so people may recognize her from that.

In other casting news for Bates Motel, Blackout's Olivia Cooke has signed on to play Emma, " classmate of Norman's with a penchant for adventure despite having a medical condition that requires her to roll a portable oxygen tank along with her." So it sounds like Norman has more than a couple ladies in his life already. But there is another male already cast in the series, in addition to Highmore. Max Thieriot is set to play Norman's older, rebellious brother Dylan.

The series won't debut until next year, but it's certainly exciting to hear about new casting developments, especially as each one gives us a new piece to the puzzle and a bit more to anticipate.
