Last Call With Carson Daly Back For Another Go Round

With Carson Daly on board to host NBC's upcoming reality competition The Voice, speculation has run rampant on whether or not the former MTV VJ's late night show would come to an end. It won't. Daly has taken a little criticism over the last ten seasons but much of it has been unfounded. He was never going to be David Letterman nor did he ever try to be. Last Call With Carson Daly is a uniquely original daily with a voice all its own, and those of you who do like it have reason to celebrate.

The contract is a straight one year renewal, meaning what you've seen before is pretty much what you'll continue to get. The host himself echoed those thoughts today, and he released a statement saying, “I am excited to continue with what we are doing here at Last Call.”

It's no secret things were a bit strange over at NBC when they booked four consecutive talk shows to round out each evening, but now that Conan is gone and they're down to three, Carson Daly's job should be a lot safer moving forward.
