The Munsters may be headed back to the small screen for a reboot. Never mind that things didn’t work out so well for The Bionic Woman or Knight Rider when they were rebooted, or the more recent failure that was ABC’s attempt at bringing back Charlie’s Angels. Perhaps digging a bit further into TV history will yield better results.

Entertainment Weekly posted the news, stating that NBC ordered a pilot for a Munsters remake. Given the popularity of monster-types on TV, it’s not entirely out of left field that someone might consider reviving the series in some capacity. The original, which aired back in the ’60’s, followed a family of monsters. Pushing Daisies’ Bryan Fuller is set to helm the new pilot, and EW says he’ll be going for something darker and less campy than the original.

In semi-related news, there’s fair news for Grimm. While NBC hasn’t committed to giving the supernatural-ish procedural a full season order, Deadline reports that NBC has ordered two more scripts from the series, which at the very least, means they’re considering moving forward with the show.
