NFL Playoffs Weekend TV Listings

Just like most of you, I come to a movie news site for all your football programming needs. I also come here for car insurance rates too. You should really ask Josh Tyler how much he’s willing to insure your car for. I know I saved plenty. Enough about savings though. It’s the NFL Playoffs! This weekend we have four great games over two days on three different networks. To save you from confusion, I have wasted an hour of my life making mediocre photoshop images that will give you all the information you need about this week’s game. Besides obviously having too much time on my hands, I’m a devout football fan. With the college bowl season winding down, it’s time for the NFL to give me my fix for the next month. What else are you going to watch? Izzie having sex with a ghost? Seriously. Here’s the television lineup and a bit of information about each game.

Announcers: Tom Hammond, Cris Collinsworth, and Tiki Barber. Wow, who did Arizona and Atlanta tick off to get big mouth Collinsworth and know nothing Tiki Barber covering the game? Hopefully Barber is just sideline reporting today Tom Hammond will have to fight to get in his usual unimaginative quips.

Blend Bits:The Falcons have been a great surprise this season to everyone including yours truly, a life long Falcons sufferer. Everybody is picking the Falcons to win which is what makes me nervous. Arizona quarterback Kurt Warner is 7-1 lifetime against the Falcons but that is primarily from his stint in St. Louis. Matt Ryan has been getting all the press this year but the difference in the game will be the running game. Falcons should roll as long as Michael Turner and Jerious Norwood have a big game.

Announcers: Al Michaels, John Madden and Andrea Kramer. Michaels is still a decent play by play guy although any amount of time sitting next to John Madden will render you a bumbling idiot. John Madden has always been annoying but he at least use to have good points. Expect an afternoon talking about Brett Favre and Turducken if this game becomes a blowout.

Blend Bits: The Chargers are 8-8 but have finished the season strong. However, Antonio Gates and LaDainian Tomlinson haven’t practice this week. If they can’t play, they lose big. If they play, the game could be very close. Some teams are calling the Chargers the “Giants” of this year. I’m not. Peyton Manning leads the Colts to victory.

Announcers: Jim Nantz and Phil Simms. Some find these guys bland but at least they know something about football and are bucking the trend of three men booths with idiotic banter. I’m looking at you Kornheiser.

Blend Bits: The biggest story of the year besides Matt Ryan and the Falcons (Go Birds!) is the turnaround of the Miami Dolphins. From 1-15 last year to division champions this year. The Ravens defense is the key to Baltimore winning as well as the play of rookie QB Joe Flacco. I just like saying his name. Flacco. Say it with me! While I think most people are picking the Dolphins to win, I have a feeling the Ravens will sneak out a victory.

Announcers: Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, and Pam Oliver. This is actually my favorite announcing team right now. I know that some people think Aikman talks about the Cowboys too much. Well, everybody talks about the Cowboys too much. Joe Buck is a great play by play guy even if he lets his emotions get in the way of reality sometimes. Pam Oliver has a large mouth.

Blend Bits: Is there anyway both of these teams can lose? Philadelphia had a slim chance of making the playoffs but everything worked out for them. McNabb has played a lot better since his benching. The Vikings are a strong team but they have a serious quarterback issue. Tavaris Jackson makes way too many mistakes. If the Vikings can get Adrian Peterson healthy and he can have a big day, the Vikings won’t need Jackson to make plays. It won’t happen. Eagles win by two touchdowns.
