New Nashville Photos Show Hayden Panettiere Singing In The Park
A good portion of the new and returning network TV shows have premiered already, but there's still more to come. Among the new dramas yet to debut this fall is Nashville, ABC's new drama with a country-music twist. Some photos from an upcoming episode give us a look at Hayden Panettiere doing a bit of performing in what appears to be a park.
Nashville premieres next Wednesday night (October 10 at 10:00 p.m.) and stars Connie Britton as music legend Rayna Jaymes, a country singer who's been on top for two decades but may be losing her edge. Hayden Panettiere plays Juliette Barnes, an up-and-coming singer who could be the one to dethrone Rayna.
ABC released a few photos from the second episode of the series ("I Can't Help It (If I'm Still In Love with You)"), which airs October 17. They give us a peek at Juliette as she appears to be performing in a park somewhere.
I was under the impression this music-focused series wasn't the type of musical that involved random impromptu singing and coordinated dancing and hair-flipping, so based on what Panettiere is wearing (a bustier, daisy dukes and cowboy boots!) and the way she's surrounded by back-up dancers, I'm going to guess that she's either putting on some kind of staged performance or maybe she's shooting a music video. (Or maybe i'm wrong about the nature of the show and people will, in fact, burst into song occasionally…)
Nashville is actually one of my favorite pilots, so I'm really hoping the episodes that follow deliver as much as the first episode did. That remains to be seen, but at the very least, we know there's more music on the way.
Nashville premieres Wednesday, October 10, 10:00 p.m., PT/ET on ABC.
