Prepare To Cook In Hell!

Because one summer reality TV show featuring chefs breaking down in tears isn’t enough, Gordon Ramsay is back to terrorize his proteges-- and viewers-- in ‘Hell’s Kitchen,’ premiering in its third season Monday night at 9 p.m.

Variety has a preview article that promises much of the same antics as the first two seasons-- tears, belittling insults, kitchen disasters, and high drama all around. The set has been expanded since last year, but the teams remain the same, divided by gender, and the elimination works the same as well, with the best chef of the worst team nominating two teammates for elimination. Ramsay, of course, has final say on who goes home, because he is, after all, the scary boss man. The opening episode also has a TV-14 rating, so let the betting begin as to whether it’s sex, drugs, foul language or violence that might terrorize the kids (I’m crossing my fingers for violence).

The bios on the Fox website are scant, so it’s hard to pick favorites at this time, but they’ll all be competing for a position as a chef at Green Valley Ranch Resort & Spa, which is the host of the Travel Channel reality show ‘American Casino.’ Clever cross-marketing, or a way of keeping the winner trapped in reality TV hell until the end of time? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
