Snoop Dogg To Play A TV Sitcom Dad

Back in the ’90’s, picturing Snoop Dogg as a sitcom dad would’ve been difficult, however times change. Over the course of the last decade or so, the rapper has appeared in various TV shows and movies, showing off his sense of humor as well as his acting chops. But can he carry a lead role in a sitcom? We may find out.

Deadline is reporting that Snoop Dogg is teaming with Don Reo (creator of My Wife and Kids and The John Larroquette Show) for a pilot for Warner Bros TV. While Snoop Dogg is well known as a musician, he’s also played roles in a number of popular movies and TV shows, including Old School, Starsky & Hutch, Weeds, Monk, and most recently, Glee and 90210.

At this point, the project with Reo hasn’t been pitched to the networks, so it could be a while before it actually makes it to the small screen, if it does at all. It’s described as a multi-camera family sitcom, so it’s likely we’ll be seeing a toned-down version of the Dogg many of us are familiar with from the days of Doggystyle and The Doggfather.

If it’s not too late, I’d like to put in a request that the word “dogg” be worked into the title of this show somewhere.
