Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain Coming To Nintendo DS

Aspyr Media and Big Blue Bubble announced today that they are creating a DS RPG based on Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, the first entry in a long-running series of gamebooks created by Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson.

Firetop Mountain takes players on a journey through an old dwarven keep inhabited by an evil warlock and his ghastly minions. You'll use a combination of brute strength, magic, and ninja quickness to defeat your foes and earn experience points to further develop your skills. The game is played in first-person perspective and sports a dynamic lighting system to make every dungeon look appropriately dingy.

The game will be released during the 2009 holiday season. The first screenshots are below.
