The sequel to action RPG Torchlight will be coming later than expected. Runic Games has pushed Torchlight II back to July.
"I'd say that the [Xbox 360 port of Torchlight], having to do the extra work with the interface, has pushed us back a little bit, so we're probably talking July right now for Torchlight II," Runic CEO Max Schaefer told Digital Spy. "It's going great, however. We've actually got some optimisations and technical improvements that went into making the Xbox version that we've been able to go back and implement into Torchlight II for PC.
Runic previously expected Torchlight II to be out in May or June. Not a huge delay, then. July's generally a game-starved wasteland so it's nice to see at least one game scheduled for release during that month.
The Xbox 360 port of the first Torchlight mentioned by Schaefer will be released through Xbox Live on March 9th. It's priced at 1200 MS Points.
