Dustin Hoffman is set to star in a movie called Clemente, according to Production Weekly. The script was written by Reuben Gonzalez and it’s being directed by Andy Garcia. Yes that Andy Garcia.
He’s more than just that fat guy from the Ocean’s movies. He’s on his way to carving out a pretty nice directing career. In 2005 he directed a film called The Lost City, which got a fair amount of acclaim. This is his follow-up. As for what it’s about, no one knows. The only Clemente I know of was ill-fated Major League Baseball right fielder Robert Clemente. That Clemente was a Puerto Rican national who played in the big leagues until a tragic aviation accident in 1972. It seems unlikely that Dustin Hoffman would play a Puerto Rican baseball player though I guess once you pull off wearing a dress, you can pretty much do anything.
