Bangkok Dangerous Clip

By Josh Tyler: 2008-06-18 01:36:52
Bangkok Dangerous Clip Lionsgate was nice enough to send a clip from Nic Cage’s new movie Bangkok Dangerous. And while I hate to rag on something they went out of their way to make available to use… what the heck is this?

The clip contains a boat chase scene, through a Bangkok canal. It may be the worst chase editing I’ve ever seen. It’s as if we’re watching every other 5 seconds from it. The whole thing never seems to quite connect together, never has any real flow. There’s a shot of Nic Cage sitting in his boat shooting towards the camera, and it looks like exactly what it is: Nic Cage sitting and pointing his gun at nothing while he’s filmed. It doesn’t look like he’s actually in pursuit of anyone. And while we’re analyzing this thing, whose idea was it to dress Cage like Hunter S. Thompson?

Towards the end there’s one of those really gorey, brutal scenes that I know a lot of you gore hounds will love. Personally though, it’s going to take a lot more than severed limbs to get me interested in this. Maybe the next clip we get will be better. Meanwhile, check out this first clip for yourself below:
