Fifty Shades Of Grey Photo Shows Jamie Dornan Behind The Wheel
Hey look, it's Christian Grey's face! I do believe this is the first (official) still from the anticipated feature adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey that shows us a mostly unobstructed view of Jamie Dornan's face in the title role, and what a nice view it is. The above photo was shared today in celebration of Christian Grey's birthday.
He's not quite smiling. But with the brow furrowed slightly, there does seem to be an expression of amusement or maybe curiosity going on there as he sits behind the wheel of what is likely a very expensive automobile. Nothing but the best for the billionaire Christian Grey! This glimpse of Christian follows two other officially released teases of Sam Taylor-Johnson's film, both of which, as it happens, only let us see the back of Grey. There was the Valentine's Day still, which gave us a peek at the virginal Anastasia Steele, possibly setting eyes on Christian for the first time. And then there was the teaser poster, which showed a stiff-postured suited-up Christian, his back to the camera as he looked through the window of his office.
Based on a popular trilogy of novels by E.L. James, Fifty Shades of Grey stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, a sexually inexperienced college grad who meets and falls instantly for Christian Grey (Dornan), a handsome billionaire businessman with a troubled past and a preference for rough sex. The role of Christian was originally set to be played by Charlie Hunnam, but he dropped out of the part and The Fall's Jamie Dornan stepped in to replace him. Also among the cast are Eloise Mumford. Luke Grimes, Jennifer Ehle, Max Martini and Victor Rasuk.
Though the film isn't due to hit theaters until next February, Universal and Focus haven't exactly been doling out the teases for this film, which wrapped production earlier this year. Some footage was revealed at CinemaCon, but video from the film has yet to be released online, so these few and far between photographic glimpses of the adaptation are all we have to go on until they make with the teaser or trailer or any other glimpse of the film for fans to gobble up while they wait for the movie to hit theaters.
Meanwhile, fans of Jamie Dornan have the second season of The Fall to anticipate. There's no official premiere date for the U.K. series yet, however the second season went into production last March after Fifty Shades of Grey wrapped. In the Belfast-set crime drama, Dornan plays a serial killer who's being pursued by Gillian Anderson's police detective character. If you want to see Jamie Dornan's 50 shades of creepy, check him out in the first season of The Fall, which is available on Netflix (only five episodes!) and well worth a look.
