Harrison Ford And Asa Butterfield Tease The First Ender's Game Trailer
Ah, trailer teasers. I'd call them super annoying and stupid if it weren't for the fact that sometimes they do legitimately make me more excited for the release of a theatrical trailer. As we learned yesterday from the official Facebook page, the first ever trailer for director Gavin Hood's highly-anticipated adaptation of Ender's Game will be arriving online in May 7th, ahead of its theatrical release showing with screenings of Star Trek Into Darkness. But today, as you can see above, Summit has delivered a special sneak peek at the movie to get you ready.
I actually had the chance to watch the badass trailer at CinemaCon last month, where I got to see the shots of students floating around in the Battle Arena and Sir Ben Kingsley as Mazer Rackham on the big screen. It should be no surprise to anybody that the studio wants to push Kingsley's presence in the movie given that he's been getting such great reviews from his performance in Shane Black's Iron Man 3. You may remember that his character was also given the spotlight in a recent still released for Ender's Game. Not an accident.
Based on the classic sci-fi novel by Orson Scott Card, the new movie is set in a future where humans are at war against an alien race. The society begins to enlist elite children in battle school in the hopes that one of them can lead the human race to victory, and their possible savoir is discovered in a young boy named Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield). Harrison Ford, Abgail Breslin, Hailee Steinfeld and Viola Davis co-star in the film, which will hit theaters November 1st.
