Hero Blend #18: X-Men: Days Of Future Past Reviewed (Spoilers Edition!)
Our spoiler-free review of Bryan Singerís X-Men: Days of Future Past went online a full 10 days ago, with our very own Sean OíConnell giving the movie four and a half stars out of five, praising both the filmís engaging story and exciting action sequences. But now that screenings have officially begun in the United States itís time to dive into the nitty-gritty: in this weekís episode of Hero Blend we are reviewing X-Men: Days of Future Past and diving head first into spoiler territory.
Based on the classic comic book arc written by Chris Claremont and illustrated by John Bryrne, the latest installment of the X-Men franchise begins in a world that has been desolated by the rise of the Sentinels: highly advanced robots designed to hunt down and kill not only all mutants, but any humans who possess the capability to pass on mutations to their offspring. Seeking a way to prevent this terrible war from ever coming to pass, the surviving X-Men agree to send Wolverineís consciousness back in time to 1973 where he can hopefully unite the disparate young Professor Xavier and young Magneto and stop an assassination that changes the world forever. Combing the casts of both the X-Men trilogy and X-Men: First Class, the all-star ensemble includes Hugh Jackman, Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore, Ellen Page, Daniel Cudmore, Adan Canto, Omar Sy, Booboo Stewart, Fan Bing Bing, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till, Peter Dinklage, Evan Peters, Josh Helman, and Evan Jonigkeit.
Joining me to dissect X-Men: Days of Future Past in this episode is Silas Lesnick, frequent Hero Blend guest host and associate editor at ComingSoon.net and SuperHeroHype. Thereís a whole lot to talk about, so just hit play already!
