After many months of waiting, the Marvel Cinematic Universe made major strides with the future of Spider-Man this week. Not only was it announced that Tom Holland will make his first appearance as the wall-crawler in Joe and Anthony Russo’s Captain America: Civil War next year, but it was also revealed that the 2017 solo film will be made by Jon Watts – the director of the horror movie Clown and the 2015 Sundance hit Cop Car. Obviously this is huge news, but it begs the question: what exactly do we expect from the new Spider-Man movie.

\ Reports have said that the 2017 blockbuster won’t be an origin story, and it’s been said by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige that the film will have a stronger focus on the titular character’s famous sense of humor. But what will being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe mean for the story? How should it handle the character’s romantic life? Who should his first nemesis be? That’s the subject of this week’s Hero Blend!

Cinema Blend’s own Sean O’Connell joins me as my co-host this week, and let’s his love for Spider-Man flow. Enjoy the show!
