Hugh Jackman Goes Shirtless On The Set Of The Wolverine
As we discussed in our feature ranking the 20 best superhero costumes seen on film, Wolverine's outfit in the X-Men franchise is pretty damn boring. While it's nice that star Hugh Jackman commits to the look with the mutton chops, pointy hair, and adamantium claws, the rest of the costume has always felt half-assed, the character 99% of the time just wearing an ordinary white wife-beater. Now the first photos of Jackman on the set of The Wolverine have surfaced, but apparently in the scene they were filming the wife-beater was just too much clothing for the Aussie star.
There's a huge gallery of shots from the production, which is just starting to get rolling down in Sydney, Australia. While we can't be 100% certain, it appears that Wolverine is trapped in some kind of Japanese prison. You can check out some of the photos below and head over to the source to see the full gallery.
The Wolverine is being directed by James Mangold and is based on a screenplay written by Christopher McQuarrie and rewritten by Mark Bomback. In addition to Jackman, the movie will also feature an international cast that includes Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, and Svetlana Khodchenkov. Will Yun Lee will play the film's central villain, The Silver Samurai, who has the mutant ability to cut through anything, including adamantium. Look for it in theaters on July 23rd and you can read more about the project in our Blend Film Database.
